Kryptograf’s self-titled debut is a beautiful barrage of proto-inspired riffs that steamrolled its way to the very top of my 2020 list. The Norwegian doom bringers return with another round of Sabbath worship on The Eldorado Spell. The riffs still lead the way, but the band explores a wider range of dynamics on this album, from the instrumental, acoustic “Across the Creek” to the bluesy guitar leads of “When the Witches” that transitions seamlessly into the serene “Wormwood.” The Eldorado Spell creeps its way into your earholes, and begs for another spin, further establishing Kryptograf as one of the top heavy underground acts on the scene.
